1. Less figures = More tango!

Real connection and techniques

Lördag och söndag kl. 11:00- 12:30

Pris: 900:- för båda dagarna (100:- rabatt om du även går workshop 2 efter lunch)

Do you dance for your partner, or do you dance for an imaginative audience when you dance at a milonga? Tango danced for others as an exhibition could surely be visually very attractive. But a tango danced for and with your partner is undoubtedly a more emotional one, with the pleasure of both giving and receiving.

Tango is not just choreography. For those stuck with that illusion the number of figures will never be enough. What is the point trying to learn countless figures and complicated movements that cannot be used in the milongas? Instead, let the focus be on improving the quality of the movements and facilitating the flow.

The permanent challenge is to improve what you already know. Quality, and not quantity, is key. Search for the rewarding synchrony in stepping at the same time. Acquire musicality and learn to listen to the rhythm and melody and how to dance it. Learn how to dance to the singer.

This workshop focuses on how to dance synchronized with and for your partner. It is all about balance, connection, energy and the embrace

La Milonga Píccola

2. Tango invisible to the eye

Real connection and techniques

Lördag och söndag kl. 14:00- 15:30

Pris: 900:- för båda dagarna (100:- rabatt om du även går workshop 1 före lunch)

The tango that is danced in the milongas is basically a tango that is not very visual - you have to feel it to understand its greateness; a tango that is intimate, danced exclusively for the partner and nobody else. This workshop offers you the possibility to learn some secrets of the tango milonguero that is felt and not seen.

It is all about the embrace and the connection, is to establish the energy, as an electric current, never to separate for any movement. And about dancing in synchrony, moving at the exact same time, the great responsibility of the companions, Dance the rythm in the crossed system, but dance the variations, accelerations or rhythm changes in the parallel system.

The woman will enjoy the sensation of being protected in the embrace, being part of the musical interpretation, and feeling the pleasure of being guided by the dance partner. The man will enjoy the presence of his partner moving in synchrony with his lead in the music. The visually imperceptible tango is intense, but not showy, and abundant in feelings and emotions.

This workshop focuses on musicality, rhythm and pauses.

4. The Milonguera and her dancing body

Techniques and secrets

Söndag kl. 18:00- 19:30

Pris: 350:-

The milonguera‘s dancing body is pure sensitivity. When she dances, all her senses are sharpened and channeled into her dance. She is agile, toned, and flexible, but with nothing loose (hips, for instance). Her body is one, it is whole. Her feet support the structure in its real sustenance. The feet, even the heels, make contact with the ground entirety, but the heels are without weight.

The milonguera's presence is remarkable. She never makes herself insignificant, modest, or keeps a low profile. She keeps her own balance, and she is light stretching her body upwards from her waist as a string on a violin ready to vibrate at the slightest touch. She doesn’t use the embrace to stabilize herself, but keeps her body’s axis tilted slightly forward, even when she is walking backwards. She dances closely around her partner, therefore requiring little space, moulding herself and the dance in sweet companionship with her partner.

The milonguera waits, follows, and never anticipates as she comes along on the voyage, synchronizing her steps, never rushing. She is continuously tuned to the messages emitting from the partner’s chest.

She is, in every instant, feeling the magic of tango.

3. The Milonguero and his dancing body

Techniques and secrets

Fredag kl. 19:30- 21:00

Pris: 350:-

The milonguero is a truly good example to follow while discovering your own tango. He listens to the music, receives it inside, interprets it, searches the beat, just like his lungs search for oxygen. He uses his body like a musical instrument, as if he is part of the orchestra. That‘s why even his simplest movements are beautifully musical.

When he dances his body moves as one unity, arms and legs don’t move independently. He never moves with his feet first. His body initiates the movement, followed by his legs. Never the other way around. He steps firmly with the whole foot defining the beat.

He leads with his whole body, but his main message comes from his chest. From his chest he communicates the sense of direction, the size of the steps, the pauses, the variations of rhythm etc. There is nothing tense or hard in his body. The more flexible he is, the more varied his dance.

His embrace is comfortably firm.  He never leaves the embrace, not even for an instant, thus never cuts the flow of communication. If there is no embrace there is nothing. The embrace, the shelter he offers his partner, obliges him to navigate skillfully on the dance floor when he takes her on the musical voyage.
